Scholarship, applications open until 30 November 2026
The KreditKompass Scholarship: SEK 5,000 for a thesis on personal finance
Writing a thesis on how ordinary households handle money, loans and debt? You can apply for the KreditKompass Scholarship. Your field of study does not matter. What counts is that your thesis makes personal finance a little easier to understand.
How to apply
Applications are submitted through the form on the Swedish page. The form accepts answers in English.
We use your details only to assess your application and to contact you about the decision.
Amount
SEK 5,000
Awarded once a year
Deadline
30 Nov
2026. The recipient is notified by 15 January 2027
Open to all programmes, not only economics
Universities, university colleges and higher vocational education
The thesis does not need to be finished, a clear idea is enough
Who can apply
- You are enrolled at a Swedish university, university college or higher vocational education institution (yrkeshögskola) during the 2026/2027 academic year. Exchange students enrolled at a Swedish institution are welcome.
- You are writing a bachelor’s or master’s thesis, or a final project in higher vocational education.
- Your thesis is about personal finance in everyday life: debt, consumer credit, saving, financial literacy or how households make decisions about money.
Your programme does not matter. Economics, social work, journalism, psychology, law, teacher education and accounting are all equally welcome. The topic decides, not the department. The thesis may be written in Swedish or English.
What we ask for
- Name and email. If you are co-authors, list everyone.
- Institution, programme and level.
- Proof of enrolment. A registration certificate from Ladok or equivalent, as PDF or image.
- Your research question and method, max 300 words.
- Why the topic matters to ordinary households, max 200 words. This is the part we weigh most.
How we choose
The KreditKompass editorial team reads every application and selects one recipient based on usefulness to households, a clear research question and feasibility. We do not look at grades or at which institution you attend. The recipient is notified by email by 15 January 2027 and presented on this page. The decision cannot be appealed.
Terms
- The scholarship is SEK 5,000, awarded once per academic year. Co-authors share the amount equally.
- The amount is paid out when the thesis has been submitted to the institution, and no later than 30 June 2027.
- The scholarship is an educational grant with no obligations. You do not need to mention KreditKompass in your thesis or do anything else for us.
- The recipient agrees to their name, institution and thesis title being published on kreditkompass.se and in a press release. We also publish a summary of the thesis with a link to the full text when it becomes available.
- Employees of KreditKompass and their families cannot apply.
- Applications that are not selected are deleted within one month after the recipient has been chosen.
